For Annette Tatum's release of her new book The Well-Dressed Home, I along with my team of creative ladies designed 11 dress forms to reflect the 11 different styles that make up the core elements of fashion and home that Annette speaks of in her book. They are still on display in her store window at 1607 Montana Ave, Santa Monica and should be up throughout the rest of this month. Come down and check them out and purchase your signed copy of The Well Dressed Home! Check out more pictures at http://www.annettetatum.com/blog/

Annette Tatum, keeping me BUSY!!

Annette Tatum, a new client and an absolute pleasure to work with! She is another dream client whom inspires me each time I work with her! A friend of mine through Anthropologie introduced me to Annette a few months ago, thanks Hannah. Annette has been using my services for visual merchandising and displays for her two store locations, set styling for her catalog and event decorating for her most recent book signing party. Check out what Annette Tatum is all about @ http://www.annettetatum.com/. Kelly Edwards Blogged about Me, thanks Kelly!

Kelly Edwards is the co-host and design coordinator for the hit television show HGTV's Design on a Dime. I had the pleasure to work with Kelly last March for three weeks as her set stylist on her AOL Living web segments. I love what it says near her picture on her blog; "Kelly Edwards the do-it-yourself darling," that is just what she is DARLING! She was inspired by these post card flowers I made (for Bree and Dave's wedding) which are listed on my Etsy store (www.kateburger.etsy.com) Access the links above to view Kelly Edwards Design Blog, I love it and check it out everyday, she has great ideas! Thanks Kelly.

Bree and Dave's wedding

Bree and I met the summer of 08' after I responded to her ad she posted on Craigslist; "Looking for a Designer for my Anthropologie/Vintage style wedding." We were a great match, you gotta love Craigslist! We worked together for the next 10 months as I consulted her on all aspects/design elements for her wedding. Bree has great design sense with a terrific eye for detail; it was so wonderful to have a client like her to work with. They got married at the beautiful Vibiana venue in downtown LA this past May. They had an outdoor patio ceremony and an indoor reception inside the gorgeous converted cathedral. Cobalt blue, aqua, gold and coral were the colors to create this vintage/modern theme. The coral peonies created the most gorgeous pop of color that was sought throughout the room. Most things were hand crafted from the mossed letters (B & D) for the front gate to vintage postcard flowers, vintage paper floral garland and much more. To hand craft most of the decor as well as involve the client is always so much fun! Bree had left me on her wedding day "to do my thing" so she didn't see the place set-up until she walked in right before the ceremony to take pictures. When I saw her in her gown I just melted, she looked so beautiful. The gratitude she expressed to me by how pleased she was with the space was truly so rewarding. I was thrilled that I had the opportunity to provide my services to Bree and Dave on a day they will never forget.

Esty Shop

If you are not aware of Etsy.com yet please check it out. I love it! It is all things handmade, like EBay for crafters, artists and/or designers. I created an Etsy shop a few months ago and put only a few items on it. My best seller so far are these vine lanterns. My friend Karen who is a Jewelry designer and has her own shop on Etsy (www.thegemshoppe.etsy.com) wrote me this email last Thursday 7/2/09.

Hi Kate!!
I was just signing in to Etsy and noticed your lanterns were featured on the homepage!! I don't know if you were aware of this, but your item was handpicked by the staff at Etsy under the gift guides category for wedding decor. Here's a link to that page:

http://www.etsy.com/gift-guides/wedding-decor/169
You received a ton of new "hearts" for this item as well as a lot of hearts for your shop. This means you have to start adding new items! People love your shop and they're gonna be keeping an eye on it now that they marked it a favorite.

I ended up receiving 45 new "hearts!" Check it out www.etsy.com or www.k8vision.etsy.com
